nationale de Justice, sont mis à la disposition de la presse.
En l'affaire de la Barcelona Traction, Light and Power Company,
Lirnit ed, introduite devant la Cour par la Belgique contre 1JEspegne, le
Gouvernement espagnol a présent é des exceptions préliminaires à la
compétence de la Cour. Ces exceptions ont été présentées au Greffe
le 21 mai 1960, à savoir dans le délai qui avait été fixé pour le dépat
du contre-mémoire espagnol.
Du fait du dépat des exceptions, la procédure sur le fond est sus-
* pendue. Une ordonnance fixera incessamment le délai duis lequel le
Gouvernement belge pourra ,présenter un e-osé écrit contenant ses obser-
vat ions et conclus ionssur les exceptions .

The following information from the Registry of the International
Court of Justice is communicated to the Press:
lm In the case concerning the Barcelona Traction, Light & Power
Company Limited, which was brought by Belgium against Spain, the
Spanish Government has presented Preliminary Objections to the
jurisdiction of the Court. These Objections were filed in the
Registry on 21 May 1960, that is, within the the-limit fixed for
the filing of the Spanish Counter-Memorial.
In consequence of the f iling of the Objections, proceedings
on the merits are suspended. Un Order will shortly be made fixing
the the-limit within which the Belgian Goverment may present a
written statement of its Observations and Submissiod on the
Objections.
