nationel Cou.rt of Justice has been communicated to the Press:
In the Mlo-Iranian Oil Company Case the Government of
Iran h2s ,just filed with the Registry of the Internctional Court of
Justice. a Cocument entitled: ii~ielim&ary obsel*va%ions: refusal by
the 1mperi.l Government to reco.ynize the .jurisdiction of the Courtf1.
It wFll be remembered thnt this case w2s presented on llay 26th,
1951 b17nn cpslicatj.on of the United Kingdom Government. As 2 result
of the Iranicn objection to the Court's jurisdiction, which is presented
in the conditions laid dolm by the rules of Court, the proceedings on the,
merits are suspended. y an order mnde to-day, the President has
fixed !?::rch ath, 1052, 2s the time-1hi.t granteid to the United Kingdom
Governnent to submit to the Court tbeir written dbservations on the
excention.
