by the Republic of Nauru instituting proceedings against the Common-
wealth of Australia in respect of a "disputethe rehabilitation of
certain phosphate lands [inNauru] worked out before Nauruan-
dence",
Havingregard to the Judgment givenby the Court on 26June 1992on
certain preliminary objections submitted by the Commonwealth of
Australia;

Whereas by a joint notification filed in the Registry on 9 September
1993 the Republic of Nauru and the Commonwealth of Australia

9 septembre 1993,la Républiquede Nauru et le Commonwealth d'Aus-
tralie ont informéla Cour qu'ils sont convenus, parce qu'ils sontsettlement, agreed to discontinue the proceedings initiated by the Appli-
cation filed on 19May 1989,

Placesonrecordthe discontinuance, by agreement ofthe Parties, ofthe
proceedings initiated on 19May 1989by the Republic of Nauru against
the Commonwealth of Australia; and

Directsthat the case be removed from the list.

Done in English and in French, the Englishtext being authoritative, at
the Peace Palace, The Hague, this thirteenth day of September, one
thousand nine hundred and ninety-three, in three copies, one of which
will be placed in the archives of the Court and the others transmitted to
the Government of the Republic of Nauru and the Government of the
