Having regard to the Order of 18August 1972in this case, by whichthe
Court decided that the first pleadings should be addressed to the question

of the jurisdiction of the Court to entertain the dispute, and fixed time-

Après délibéren chambre du conseil,
Vu l'article 48du Statut de la Cour et l'article 37 du Règlementde la
Cour de 1946,

Rend l'ordonnance suivante:

Vu l'ordonnance prise en l'affairele 18août 1972,par laquelle la Cour
a décidéque les premièrespiècesécritesporteraient sur la question de la
compétencede la Courpour connaître du différend eta fixéla date d'expi-
ration des délaispour le dépôt d'un mémoire du Gouvernement du

4Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and a Counter-Memorial
of the GovernmentofIceland;

Having regard to the Judgment of 2 February 1973 in this case, by
which the Court found that it had jur sdiction to entertain the Applica-
tion filed by the Government of the United Kingdom on 14 April 1972
and to deal with the merits of the dispute;
Whereas the Court must therefore now fixtime-limits for the written
proceedings on the merits;

Having ascertained the views of the Applicant and having given the
Respondent an opportunity of stating its views,

Fixes as follows the time-limits for the written proceedings on the
merits :
1 August 1973 for the Memorial of the Government of the United
Kingdom,
15 January 1974 for the Counter-Memorial of the Government of

Iceland;
And reserves the subsequent procedure for further decision.

Done in English and in French, the English text being authoritative, at
the Peace Palace,TheHague, this fifteenth day of February, one thousand
nine hundred and seventy-three, in three copies, one of which will be
placed in the archives of the Court, and the others transmitted to the
Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern
Ireland, and to the Government of the Republic of Iceland, respectively.

mémoiredu Gouvernement islandais;
Vu l'arrêtrendu en l'affaire le 2 février1973,par lequel la Cour a dit
qu'elle avait compétence pour connaître de la requêtedéposéepar le
Gouvernement du Royaume-Uni le 14avril 1972et statuer sur le fond du
différend;
Considérant en conséquence que la Cour doit maintenant fixer des
délaispour la procédureécritesur le fond;

Aprèss'être renseignéaeuprèsdu demandeur et avoir donnéau défen-
deur la possibilitéd'indiquer ses vues,

Fixe comme suit la date d'expiration des délaispour la procédureécrite
sur le fond:
Pour le dépôtdu mémoiredu Gouvernement du Royaume-Uni, le le'
août 1973,
Pour ledépôtdu contre-mémoiredu Gouvernement islandais, le 15jan-
vier 1974;

Réserve la suitede la procédure.

Fait en français et en anglais, le texte anglais faisant foi, au palais de la
Paix, à La Haye, le quinze févriermil neuf cent soixante-treize, en trois
exemplaires, dont l'un restera déposé auxarchives de la Cour et dont les
autres seront transmis respectivement au Gouvernement du Royaume-

Uni de Grande-Bretagne et d'Irlande du Nord et au Gouvernement de la
République d'Islande.
