Fixing of time-limits for the filing of the initial pleadings
THE HAGUE, 14 April 2011. The International Court of Justice (ICJ), the principal judicial
organ of the United Nations, has fixed time-limits for the filing of the initial pleadings in the case
concerning Certain Activities carried out by Nicaragua in the Border Area (Costa Rica v.
Nicaragua).
By an Order of 5April2011, the Court fixed 5December2011 and 6August2012,
respectively, as the time-limits for the filing of a Memorial by the Republic of Costa Rica and a
Counter-Memorial by the Republic of Nicaragua.
The Court made the Order taking account of th e views of the Parties. The subsequent
procedure has been reserved for further decision.
