(Request for Advisory Opinion)
Extension of time-limits for the submission of written comments
THE HAGUE, 28 January 2011. The President of the International Court of Justice,
Judge Hisashi Owada, has extended the time-limits for the submission of written comments in the
proceedings on the request for advisory opinion made by the International Fund for Agricultural
Development (IFAD) in respect of Judgment No.2867 of the Administrative Tribunal of the
International Labour Organization (hereinafter the “Tribunal”).
By an Order dated 24 January 2011, the President of the Court has extended to
11March2011: the time-limit within which St ates and organizations having presented written
statements may submit, in accordance with Artic le66, paragraph4, of the Statute, written
comments on the other written statements; and the time-limit within which any comments by the
complainant in the proceedings against the Fund before the Tribunal may be presented to the Court.
The time-limits have been ex tended in response to a request to that effect made by the
General Counsel of IFAD in a letter dated 21 January 2011 and received in the Registry on the
same day. They had originally been fixed by the Court at 31 January 2011 in an Order dated
29 April 2010.
In his Order dated 24 January 2011, the Presi dent of the Court noted that the General
Counsel of IFAD on 19October2010 submitted a written statement of the Fund and on
26October2010 a statement setting forth the views of the complainant. The President further
noted that on 28 October 2010 the Ambassador of the Plurinational State of Bolivia to the Kingdom
of the Netherlands submitted a written statement of the Government of Bolivia. These statements
were submitted within the time-limits fixed for that purpose by the Court.
The subsequent procedure has been reserved for further decision. - 2 -
