Fixing of time-limits for the filing of the initial pleadings
THE HAGUE, 22 January 2009. The Internati onal Court of Justice (ICJ), the principal
judicial organ of the United Nations, has fixed time-limits for the filing of initial pleadings in the
case concerning Application of the Interim Acco rd of 13 September 1995 (the former Yugoslav
Republic of Macedonia v. Greece).
By an Order of 20 January 2009, the Court fixe d 20 July 2009 as the time-limit for the filing
of a Memorial by the former Yugoslav Re public of Macedonia and 20 January 2010 as the
time-limit for the filing of a Counter-Memorial by the Hellenic Republic.
The Court adopted the Order taking into account the views of the Parties. The subsequent
procedure has been reserved for further decision.
