Maritime Dispute (Peru v. Chile)
Fixing of time-limits for the filing of the initial pleadings
THE HAGUE, 1April2008. The International Court of Justice (ICJ), principal judicial
organ of the United Nations, has fixed time-limitfor the filing of initial pleadings in the case
concerning Maritime Dispute (Peru v. Chile).
By an Order of 31March2008, the Court fixed 20March2009 as the time-limit for the
filing of a Memorial by Peru and 9March2010 as the time-limit for the filing of a
Counter-Memorial by Chile.
The Court adopted the Order taking into account the views of the Parties and the
circumstances of the case. The subsequent procedure has been reserved for further decision.
