Further extension of time-limits for the filing of a Reply and a Rejoinder

THE HAGUE, 12 January 2006. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) has extended the
time-limits for the submissionf a Reply by the Republic of the Congo and a Rejoinder by France

in the case concerning Certain Criminal Proceedings in France (Republic ofthe Congo v. France).

By an Order of 11 January 2006, the Court fixed 11 July 2006 and 11 August 2008 as the
respective time-limits for the filinghese pleadings.

In a letter dated 9 January 2006, the Agent of the Republic of the Congo, referring to the

current status of the judicial proceedings in France and in the Congo, asked the Court, for the
reasons set out in the letter, to extend by six months the time-limit for the filing of the Reply of the
Republic of the Congo. In a letter also dated 9 January 2006, the Agent of the French Republic
indicated that her Government did not abject to the further extensionof time sought, it being
understood that "this acceptance [was] linked only to the judicial proceedings in France" and that
the time-limit fixed for the filing of the Rejoinder be extended likewise.
