Reguest for the indication of provisional measures

Accreditation procedure for the public hearings on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 June 2006

PRESS

THE HAGUE, 29 May 2006. Media representatives wishing to cover the public hearings in

this case on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 June6 should comply with the following procedure:

Online accreditation

Please complete the accreditation forms on the home page of the Court's website
(www.icj-cij.org).

Applications for accreditation must reach the Court by Monday 5 June 2006.

Only application forms submitted online will be considered. Forms sent by fax or post will
not be processed. Applications will be checked individually by the Court's Information
Department, and replies will be sent out bye-mail on Tuesday 6 June 2006, giving details of where

and how successful applicants can pick up their entry badges.

No account will be taken of incomplete forms or forms received after the closing date.

Photographers are requested to apply for accreditation separately, using a similar form.

So as to avoid long queues, media representatives are asked to present themselves at the
Peace Palace gatesnot later than one hour before the start of the hearings.They are kindly
requested to carry persona! ID as weil as their press card. Strict checks will be carried out before
each sitting.

Only duly accredited individuals with valid identification will be allowed onto the Peace

Palace site during the hearings. -2-

Parking

No parking will be permitted inside the Peace Palace grounds. Vehicles should be left in
parking spaces (generally metered) in neighbouring streets.

Satellite vehicles and those with heavy equipment to unload may apply for permission to

park inside the grounds; requests, giving reasons, must be submitted to the Information
Department in advance.

Press room

Media representatives will have access to the Peace Palace press room, where headsets will
be available, carrying live transmissions of the hearings in English and French. There are also
internet connection facilities. You are advised to bring your own mobile phone.

TV crews may take direct feeds off the Court's audiovisual system (PAL), and there will
also be a radio feed from the Court's audio system.

Photographers

Accredited photographers will be able to take still pictures for a few minutes at the start of
the hearing of Thursday 8 June 2006 only. They must keep to the right-hand side of the Great Hall
of Justice, in accordance with the Court's usual practice.
