THE HAGUE, 3 January 2005. The President of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has

again extended the time-limits for the submission of a Reply by the Republic of the Congo and a
Rejoinder by France in the case concerning Certain Criminal Proceedings in France (Republic of
the Congo v. France).

By an Order of 29 December 2004, the President of the Court fixed 11 July 2005 and
11 August 2006 as the respective time-limits for the filing of these pleadings.

In a letter dated 21 December 2004, the Agent of the Republic of the Congo, referring to an
appeal in cassation lodged against a judgment of the First Examining Chamber of the Paris Court of
Appeal handed down on 22 November 2004, asked the Court to extend by six months, as from
10 January 2005, the time-limit for the filing of his country's Reply. In a letter dated

28 December 2004, the Agent of the French Republic indicated that his Government did not abject
to the further extension time sought.

The President of the Court adopted the Order taking account of the reasons given by the
Republic of the Congo and of the agreement of the Parties.
