The falloiving informationfro~n the Registryof the International
Court of Justice is cormunicated to the Press:

At the hearing of 22 October 1562, the ?gentfor South Xfrici? In
the Sc:uth West Africz cases having filed an amendment to his previous
Subrnissions, consid-ered ta be necessary ia the lieht of the questions

put by Judge Sir Percy Spender, the Agent for Ethiopia and Libex-ia
requested permissionto reservethe right to cornnie~~on that amendment
at a later heasing.

Aftcr hsvingdeliberated,the Court informed the Agentsfor the
Parties that it would hold a hearing at 10.50 a.m. on Vednesday,
24 October 1962, te hear passible comments by the Asent for Ethiopia
and Liberia. On 23 October, however, the latter informed the
E-egistry that he did not wish te avail himselfof this opportunity

of presentingcoments. The hearing arrangea fur 10.30 a.rn. on
I?ednesday, 24 October, $vil1 therefore not be held. The Agents of
the 2artieshave besn informed that the oral proccdure in the South
!?Jes%Bfrica cases (~rcliininar~ Objections) is closed.
