between the Republic of El Salvador and the Republic of Hondurasfor
the submissionofaland,islandand maritimefrontierdispute betweenthe
two Statesto achamber ofthe Court,
Having regard to the Application for permission to intervene in the
caseunder Article 62ofthe Statute of theCourt filed by the Republic of
Nicaragua on 17November 1989;and

Whereas bya Judgment delivered on 13Sepiember 1990the Chamber
found ihat Nicaragua had shown that it had an interesi of a leeal nature
which maybe affgcted by pari of the Judgment of the chamber on the
merits in the present case, namelyitssion on the legal régime ofthe
waters ofthe Gulf of Fonseca, but1by its decision on other issues in
dispute, and decided that Nicaragua wasrmitted to intervene in the
case,pursuant to Article 62ofthe Statute,tothe extent,inthe mannerand
forthepurposes therein indicated, but not further or othewise; Havingascertained the viewsofthe Partiesand oftheintervening State,

Fixesthe time-limitsprovided for in Article85ofthe Rules ofCourt as
follows :
14December 1990asthe time-limitforthesuhmission bythe Repuhlic
of Nicaragua of a writtenstatement;
14March 1991asthe time-limitwithin whichthe Parties may,ifthey so

desire, fumish their written observations on the wrinen statement of the
Republic of Nicaragua;
And reservesthe suhsequent procedure for further decision.

the PeacePalace,TheHague,thisfourteenth day ofSeptember,onethou-
sand ninehundred and ninety,in fourcopies, one ofwhichwillbe placed

Règlement,
Vulecompromisconclu le 24mai 1986entre la Républiqued'ElSalva-
doret la Républiquedu Honduras,visant àsoumettreàune chambredela
Courun différendfrontalierterrestre,insulaireetmaritime entre lesdeux
Etats,

Vu la requêteà fin d'intervention dans l'affaire conformémànI'ar-
ticle62du Statut de la Cour, déposéepar la République du Nicaraguale
17novembre 1989;et
Considérant que,parun arrêtrendule 13septembre 1990,laChambrea
dit que le Nicaragua a établiqu'ila un intét'ordrejuridique suscep-
tible d'êtaffectéparune partie de l'arrêt que la Chambre reau fond
en l'espèce,àsavoir parla décisionqu'ellerendra sur le régimejuridique
des eaux du golfe de Fonseca, mais non par ses décisionssur d'autres
questions en litige, eta décque le Nicaragua est autoriàéintervenir
dans l'instance, conformément l'article62du Statut, dans la mesure,de

la manièreet aux fins spécifiédans l'arrê, ais ni davantage ni autre-
ment;
