Further extension of time-limits for the filing of a Reply and a Rejoinder

THE HAGUE, 13 July 2005. The President of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has
again extended the time-limits for the submission of a Reply by the Republic of the Congo and a
Rejoinder by France in the case concerning Certain Criminal Proceedings in France (Republic of
the Congo v. France).

By an Order of IlJuly 2005, the President of the Court fixedIl January 2006 and
10 August 2007 as the respective time-limits for the filing of these pleadings.

In a letter dated 6 July 2005, the Agent of the Republic of the Congo, referring to the current
status of the judicial proceedings in France and in the Congo, asked the Court, for the reasons set
out in the letter, to extend by six months the time-limit for the filing of the Reply of the Republic of

the Congo. In a letter dateIl July 2005, the Agent of the French Republic indicated that her
Government did not abject to the further extension of time sought, provided that the time-limit for
the filing of the Rejoinder be similarly extended.

The Court initially fixed 10 December 2004 and 10 June 2005 as the respective time-limits
for the filing of the Reply and the Rejoindelts President already agreed to postpone those
time-limits twice at the request of the Republic of the Congo.
