Filing of Memorial

The following information is made available to the press by the
Kegi stry of the Internati onal Court of Justice:

On 15 May 1987, wlthin the time-limit fixed by the Court in an Order
of 2 March 1987, the United States filed the Memorlal in the case
concerning Elettronica Sicula S.P.A. which relates to a dispute between
that country and Italy.

The time-limi t for the filing of Italy's Counter-Memorial is

16 November 1987.

As previously announced, the case is to be dealt with by a Chamber
which the Court, in an Order of 2 March 1987, constituted as follows:

President Nagendra Singh (India); Judges Shigeru Oda (~apan),
Roberto Ago (Italy), Stephen Schwebel (United States of Arnerica) and
Sir Robert Jenni ngs (Uni ted Kingdom) .
