The following information is made available to the press by the
Registry of the International Court of Justice:

At public sittirigs on 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 10 April 1984 the Chamber
formed by the Court t;o deal with the case concerning Delimitation of the

Maritime Boundary in the Gulf of Maine Area between Canada and the United
States heard argument: presented on behalf of the Government of Canada.

The following took part in this first oral presentation of Canada's
case : Mr. L. Legault , Agent of Canada; Mr. M. MacGuigan, Minister of
Justice and Attorney General of Canada; Mr. B. Hankey, Deputy Agent of

Canada; Messrs. Binnie, Fortier, Brownlie, Bowett, Weil and Malintoppi,
Counsel.

The United States is to begin the oral presentation of its case on
Wednesday 11 April 1984.
