Having regard to the Application filed bythe of Denmark in
theRegistry of the Court on 16 August 1988,instituting proceedings
against thengdom of Nonvay in respect of a dispute concerning mari-
time delimitation in the area between Greenland and the Nonvegian
island ofJan Mayen;
Whereas on 17August 1988theKingdom of Norway was notified by
telex ofthe filingofthe Application and ofthe submissionsmade therein,
and a copy of the Application was transmitted to it the same day by fac-

Vul'article 48du Statut de la Cour et les articlest 48de son
Règlement,
Vu la requête enregistau Greffe de la Cour le août 1988par
laquelle le Royaume du Danemark a introduit une instance contre
le Royaume de Norvège au sujet d'un différend relatiflimitation
maritime dans la région situéeentre le Groenland et l'île norvégienne
Jan Mayen;

Considérantque, le7août 1988,leRoyaume de Norvègea reçu noti-
fication par télexdu dépôtde cetterequête ainsique des conclusions qui
y figuraient, et qu'une copie lui en a été transmise le mêmejouprar télé-
copie et par poste; Whereas the Kingdom of Denmark has appointed as Agent Mr. Tyge
Lehmann, Under-Secretary for Legal Affairs in the Royal Danish Minis-
try of Foreign Affairs, and the Kingdom of Nonvay has appointed as
AgentsMr.PerTresselt,Director-General for LegalAffairs,RoyalMinis-
try of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Bjarn Haug, Solicitor-General of the

Government of Norway ;

Whereas at a meeting between the President of the Court and the
Agents and advisers of the Parties, held on 12October 1988,the Parties
agreed to request the Court to fix a time-limit of approximately nine
months forthe filingofthe Memorial and asimilartime-limit forthefiling
of the Counter-Memorial;

Having taken into account the viewsof the Parties,
Fixes the followingtime-limits for the written proceedings:

1August 1989forthe Memorial of the Kingdom of Denmark;
15May 1990for the Counter-Memorial of the Kingdom of Norway;

And reserves the subsequent procedure forfurther decision.

Done in English and in French, the Englishtext being authoritative, at
the Peace Palace, The Hague, this fourteenth day of October, one thou-
Sandnine hundred and eighty-eight,in three copies, one of which willbe
placed in the archives of the Court and the others transmitted to the
Government of the Kingdom of Denmark and the Government of the

Kingdom of Nonvay respectively.

Fixe comme suit les dates d'expiration des délaispour le dépôtdes
piècesde la procédure écrite:
Pour le mémoiredu Royaume du Danemark, le le'août 1989;

Pour le contre-mémoiredu Royaumede Norvège, le15mai 1990;
Réserve la suitede la procédure.

Fait en anglais et enfrançais, letexte anglaisfaisant foi, au palais de la
Paix, àLa Haye, le quatorze octobre mil neuf cent quatre-vingt-huit,en
trois exemplaires, dont l'un restera déposé auxarchives de la Cour et les
autres seronttransmisrespectivement au Gouvernement du Royaume du
Danemark et au Gouvernement du Royaumede Norvège.
