NOTTEBOHM CASE

(LIECHTENSTEIN v. GUATEMALA)

ORDER

The President of the InternationalCourt of Justice,

having regard to Article 48 of the Statute of the Court,
having regard to Articl37 of the Rules of Court,

having regard t'o the Application, dated December roth, 1951,
and filed in the Rcgistry of the Court on December 17th, by which
the Governmest lof the Principalitof Liechtenstein instituted
proceedings in the Nottebohm case against the Republic of Guate-
mala,

having regard to the Order of January 26th, 1952, fixing the
time-limits for the presentatior of theorialand of the Counter-
Memorial in that case, and reserving the rest of the procedure for
further decision;
Whereas, by letter dated February 28th, 1952, received by the
Registry on March 3rd, 1952, the Agent of the Liechtenstein Govern-
ment has requested that the time-limit for the presentation of the
Memorial be extended by two months ;

Whereas, by telegram of March 4th, 1952, the Minister for
Foreign Affairs of Guatemala, to whom the said reqiiest had been
communicated, replied that his Government did not object to
this extension;
4 Fixes as follows the time-limits for the filing by the Parties of
the first two pleadings :

for the Memonal of the Government of Liechtenstein : June 3rd,
1952 ;

for the Counter-Mernorial of the Government of Guatemala :
September 15th, 1952 ;

the rest of the procedure remaining reserved for further decision.

Done in French and English, the French text being authoritative,
at the Peace Palace, The Hague, this seventh day of March, one
thousand nine hundred and fifty-two, in three copies, one of which
will be placed in the archives of the Court and the ot-herswill be
transmitted to the Governments of the Principality of 1-iechten-
stein and of the Republic of Guatemala, respectively.

ORDONNANCE

Le Président de la Cour internationale dJustice,

vu l'article8 du Statut de la Cour,

vu l'article 37 du Règlement de la Cour,
vu la requête,datée duIOdécembre 1951 et déposéeau Greffe de
la Cour le 17 décembre, par laquelle le Gouvernement de la Princi-
pauté du Liechtenstein a introduit contre la République du Guate-

mala une instance relativel'affaire Nottebohm,

vu l'ordonnance du 26 janvier 1952 fixant les délaispour le dépôt
du ném moie rt du contre- mémoireen ladite affaire, et réservant la
suite de la procédure

Considérant que, par lettre du 28 février 1952, reçue au Greffe
le 3 mars 1952, l'agent du Gouvernement du Liechtenstein a
demandé une prolongation de deux mois du délai fixépour le
dépôt du mémoire ;
Considérant que, par télégramme du 4 mars 1952, le ministre
des Affaires étrangères du Guatemala, auquel la demande pré-
citée avait été communiquée, a fait savoir que son gouvernement
n'avait pas d'objectionà la prolongation;
