New time-limits in the case brought by Bosnia and Herzegovina
against Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegror
The following information is comrnunicatedto the Press by the
Registry of the International Court of Justice:
5 October 1993,w time-limits have been set for the filing ofn
pleadings in the case which it brought on 1993 against
Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) concerning Application of the
Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.
Under an Order of 16 April 19and Yugoslavia (Serbia ando
Montenegro) a Counter-Memorial by 15 April 1994.
Bosnia and Herzegovina requested an additional six months and
agreed to aimilar further period being allowedto the other Party.
Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) expressed the opinion that equality
time-limit for its pleading.he extension by twelve months of the
On 7 October 1993 the Vice-President of the Court made an Order
fixing the new time-limits as follows:
15 April 1994 for the Memorial of Bosnia and Herzegovina
15 April 1995 for the Counter-Memorial of Yugoslavia (Serbia
and Montenegro).
