Filing of Rejoinder
The following information is made available to the Press by the
Registry of the International Court of Justice.
Within the time-.limit of 18 July 1988 fixed in an Order made by the
Court on 17 November 1987,
Italy has filed its Rejoinder in the case
brought against it by the United States concerning the Company
Elettronica Sicula S.p.A..
The filing of the Rejoinder brings to an end the written proceedings
in the case. The next step will consist in the submission of oral
arguments by the Parties. The date fixed for the opening of the hearing
will be announced in due course.
As previously announced, the case is being dealt with by a Chamber
which the Court, in an Order of 2 March 1987, constituted as follows:
President Nagendra Sirigh (India); Judges Shigeru Oda (Japan),
Roberto Ago (Italy), Stephen Schwebel (United States of America) and
Sir Robert Jennings (United Kingdom).
