In the course of eleven publicsittings in the South West Africa
cases (~thiopia 1. South Africa; Liberia v. South ~frica) froï.1
j~iednesday,30 June tu Wednesday, 1L July the Court heard the replies of

the Parties tu its questions put on 22 June, and then reswned the
hearing of witnesses and experts called by South :9rica. These were
Frofcssor S.P. van S. Ikuwer,, Profossorof Social and Cultural
Anthropology at the University of Port Elizabeth; Professor R.F. Logan,
Prof ~ssor of Geography at the U,niversity of Calif ornia, Los Angeles;
Professor E. van den Haag, Professor of Social Philosophy at NewYork
University; and Plr.P.J.Cillie, Editor of "Die Burgerl?, Cape Town.
Questions were put to the witnesses and experts by rnernbers ofthe Coiart.
