The International Court of Justice,
Composed as above,
After deliberation,
Having regard to Article 48 of the Statute of the Court and to
Article 44, paragraph 3, of the Rules of Court,
Having regard to the Order dated 21 January 2022, whereby the Court
authorized the submission of a Reply by the Islamic Republic of Iran and
a Rejoinder by the United States of America, and fixed 21 November
2022 and 21 September 2023 as the respective time-limits for the filing of
these pleadings;
Whereas, by a letter dated 5 October 2022, the Co-Agent of the Islamic
Republic of Iran requested the Court to extend by one month the timelimit
for the filing of the Reply, and indicated the reasons for that request;

l’affaire ; M. Tomka, Mmes Xue, Sebutinde, MM. Robinson,
Salam, Iwasawa, Nolte, Mme Charlesworth, juges ;

Après délibéré en chambre du conseil,
Vu l’article 48 du Statut de la Cour et le paragraphe 3 de l’article 44
de son Règlement,
Vu l’ordonnance du 21 janvier 2022, par laquelle la Cour a autorisé
la présentation d’une réplique par la République islamique d’Iran et
d’une duplique par les Etats-Unis d’Amérique, et fixé au 21 novembre
2022 et au 21 septembre 2023, respectivement, la date d’expiration des
délais pour le dépôt de ces pièces de procédure ;
Considérant que, par lettre en date du 5 octobre 2022, le coagent de
la République islamique d’Iran a prié la Cour de reporter d’un mois la
date d’expiration du délai pour le dépôt de la réplique, en exposant les

and whereas, on receipt of that letter, the Registrar, referring to
Article 44, paragraph 3, of the Rules of Court, transmitted a copy thereof
to the Agent of the United States of America;
Whereas, by a letter dated 12 October 2022, the Agent of the United
States of America indicated that his Government had no objection to the
extension of the time-limit requested by the Islamic Republic of Iran “so
long as the United States [was] also accorded an additional month for the
filing of its Rejoinder until Monday, October 23, 2023”;
Taking into account the agreement of the Parties,
Extends to 21 December 2022 the time-limit for the filing of the Reply
of the Islamic Republic of Iran;
Extends to 23 October 2023 the time-limit for the filing of the Rejoinder
of the United States of America; and
Reserves the subsequent procedure for further decision.
Done in English and in French, the English text being authoritative, at
the Peace Palace, The Hague, this twentieth day of October, two thousand
and twenty-two, in three copies, one of which will be placed in the
archives of the Court and the others transmitted to the Government of
the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Government of the United States of
America, respectively.

raisons de cette demande ; et que, à réception de la lettre, le greffier, se
référant au paragraphe 3 de l’article 44 du Règlement de la Cour, en a
transmis copie à l’agent des Etats-Unis d’Amérique ;
Considérant que, par lettre en date du 12 octobre 2022, l’agent des
Etats-Unis d’Amérique a indiqué que son Gouvernement ne s’opposait
pas à la prorogation de délai demandée par la République islamique
d’Iran, « pour autant que la date d’expiration du délai pour le dépôt de
la duplique des Etats-Unis soit également reportée d’un mois, soit au
lundi 23 octobre 2023 » ;
Compte tenu de l’accord des Parties,
Reporte au 21 décembre 2022 la date d’expiration du délai pour le
dépôt de la réplique de la République islamique d’Iran ;
Reporte au 23 octobre 2023 la date d’expiration du délai pour le dépôt
de la duplique des Etats-Unis d’Amérique ;
Réserve la suite de la procédure.
Fait en anglais et en français, le texte anglais faisant foi, au Palais de
la Paix, à La Haye, le vingt octobre deux mille vingt-deux, en trois
exemplaires, dont l’un restera déposé aux archives de la Cour et les
autres seront transmis respectivement au Gouvernement de la République
islamique d’Iran et au Gouvernement des Etats-Unis d’Amérique.
