Après délibéré en chambre du conseil,

Vu l’article 48 du Statut de la Cour et les articles 31, 44, 45, para
graphe 1, 48 et 49 de son Règlement,

Vu la requête déposée au Greffe de la Cour le 16 septembre 2013, par
laquelle la République du Nicaragua a introduit une instance contre lfa
République de Colombie concernant un différend relatif à «f la délimita
tion entre, d’une part, le plateau continental du Nicaragua s’éftendant
au‑delà de 200 milles marins des lignes de base à partir desquelles est
mesurée la largeur de la mer territoriale du Nicaragua et, d’autref part, le

plateau continental de la Colombie »;

The International Court of Justice,
Composed as above,

After deliberation,
Having regard to Article 48 of the Statute of the Court and to Arti

cles 31, 44, 45, paragraph 1, 48 and 49 of the Rules of Court,
Having regard to the Application filed in the Registry of the Court onf
16 September 2013, whereby the Republic of Nicaragua instituted pro
ceedings against the Republic of Colombia with regard to a dispute in

relation to “the delimitation of the boundaries between, on the one hfand,
the continental shelf of Nicaragua beyond the 200‑nautical‑mile limit
from the baselines from which the breadth of the territorial sea of
Nicaragua is measured, and on the other hand, the continental shelf of
Colombia” ;

Considérant que, le 16 septembre 2013, un exemplaire original de la

requête a été transmis à la Colombie ;
Considérant que, dans sa requête, le Nicaragua a fait connaîtref à la
Cour qu’il avait désigné S. Exc. M. Carlos José Argüello Gómez comme

agent; et que, par une lettre en date du 27 novembre 2013, la Colombie
a fait connaître à la Cour qu’elle avait désigné S. Exc. M. Carlos Gus ‑
tavo Arrieta comme agent et S. Exc. M. Manuel José Cepeda comme
coagent ;

Considérant que, au cours d’une réunion que le président de fla Cour a
tenue avec les agents des Parties le 6 décembre 2013, en application de
l’article 31 du Règlement, ceux‑ci sont parvenus à un accord tendant à cef
que le Nicaragua dispose d’une période de douze mois, à compterf de la
date de la présente ordonnance, pour la préparation de son mémofire, et à

ce que la Colombie dispose ensuite d’une période égale de douzef mois
pour la préparation de son contre‑mémoire ;
Compte tenu de l’accord des Parties,

Fixe comme suit les dates d’expiration des délais pour le dépôt fdes

pièces de la procédure écrite :
Pour le mémoire de la République du Nicaragua, le 9 décembre 2014 ;

Pour le contre‑mémoire de la République de Colombie, le 9 décembre
2015 ;
Réserve la suite de la procédure.

Fait en français et en anglais, le texte français faisant foi, au Palais de
la Paix, à La Haye, le neuf décembre deux mille treize, en trois exem ‑

plaires, dont l’un restera déposé aux archives de la Cour et lefs autres
seront transmis respectivement au Gouvernement de la République du
Nicaragua et au Gouvernement de la République de Colombie.

Whereas on 16 September 2013 an original of the Application was

transmitted to Colombia ;
Whereas in its Application Nicaragua notified the Court of the appointf ‑
ment of H.E. Mr. Carlos José Argüello Gómez as Agent ; and whereas,

by letter dated 27 November 2013, Colombia notified the Court of the
appointment of H.E. Mr. Carlos Gustavo Arrieta as Agent and of
H.E. Mr. Manuel José Cepeda as Co‑Agent ;

Whereas, at a meeting held by the President of the Court with the
Agents of the Parties on 6 December 2013, pursuant to Article 31 of the
Rules of Court, the latter came to an agreement that Nicaragua should
have a period of 12 months at its disposal, from the day of the present
Order, in which to prepare its Memorial, and that Colombia should then

have an equal period of 12 months for the preparation of its Counter‑
Memorial ;
Taking into account the agreement of the Parties,

Fixes the following time‑limits for the filing of the written pleadings :

9 December 2014 for the Memorial of the Republic of Nicaragua ;

9 December 2015 for the Counter‑Memorial of the Republic of Colom ‑
bia ; and
Reserves the subsequent procedure for further decision.

Done in French and in English, the French text being authoritative, at
the Peace Palace, The Hague, this ninth day of December, two thousand

and thirteen, in three copies, one of which will be placed in the archivfes
of the Court and the others transmitted to the Government of the Repub ‑
lic of Nicaragua and the Government of the Republic of Colombia,
respectively.
