ORDER

The Vice-Presidentof the International Court of Justice,

Havingregard to Article48 oftheatute ofthe Court and to Article 13,
paragraph 3, and Article 44, paragraphs 3 and 4, of the Rules of Court,
Having regard to theOrder made by the President of the Court on
16April 1993,whereby he fixed 15October 1993as the time-limit forthe
Memorial of Bosnia and Herzegovina and 15April 1994as that for the
Counter-Memorial of Yugoslavia(Serbia and Montenegro);

Whereas the Agent of the Applicant, by ater dated 4 October 1993,
received in facsimile in the Registry of the Court ontober 1993,
requested the Court, for reasons stated in theetter, to extend by
sixmonths the time-limitfixed forthe filing ofthe Memorial, and, should
that request be granted, consented to the granting of an additional
sixmonths for the production of the Counter-Memorial ifh were the
Respondent's desire; and whereas the Deputy-Registrar immediately
transmitted a copy of thatter to the Agent of the Respondent;
Whereas the Agent of the Respondent has expressed the opinion of
his Government that, having in mind the principle of the equality of the

paragraphes 3 et 4de l'article 44 de son Règlement,

Vul'ordonnance du 16avril 1993,par laquellele Présidentde la Coura
fixéau 15 octobre 1993la date d'expiration du délaipour le dépôt du
mémoiredela Bosnie-Herzégovineetau 15avril 1994la date d'expiration
du délaipour le dépôt du contre-mémoirede la Yougoslavie (Serbie et
Monténégro);
Considérant que l'agent du demandeur, par lettre datée dure
1993etreçue au Greffe dela Courpar télle 5octobre 1993,apriéla
Cour, pour lesraisonsexposéesdanscettelettre, deproroger desixmoisle
délaifixépour le dépôtdumémoireet, au casoù il seraitfait droit
demande, a accepté qu'un délai supplémentairede six mois soit accordé
pour la production du contre-mémoire, si le défendeur le souhaite; et
considérant que le Greffier adjoint a immédiatement transmis copie de
cette lettre'agentdu défendeur;
Considérant que l'agent du défendeur a exprimé l'opinion de son
gouvernementque, eu égardau principe de l'égdes parties, pour ce

Memorial of the Government of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia

(Serbiaand Montenegro); and
Reservesthe subsequent procedure forfurther decision.

the Peace Palace,The Hague, this seventh day of October, one thousand

nine hundred and ninety-three, in three copies, one of which will be
placed in the archivesofthe Courtand the otherstransmitted tothe Gov-
ernment ofthe Republicof Bosniaand Herzegovinaand the Government
of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia(Serbia and Montenegro),respec-
tively.
