ORDER
ThePresident ofthe International Court ofJustice,
Havingregardto Article48ofthe Statuteofthe Courtand to Article44,
paragraphs 3 and 4, and Article 79,paragraphs 3 and 4, ofthe Rules of
Court,
Having regard to the preliminary objections to the jurisdiction of the
Court filedinthis caseon4 March 1991bythe United States of America,
Having regard to theOrder of 18December 1991extending to 9June
1992thetime-limitforthefiling bythe Government ofthe Islamicepub-
lic of Iran of a written statement of its observations and submissions on
the preliminaryobjections raised by the United Statesof America;
Whereas,by aletter dated 2June 1992,receivedin the Registryon that
same day,the Agentof Iran, forthe reasons therein set out,requestedthe
Court to extend by three months the time-limitfor the filing of a written
statement of observationsand submissionsonthe preliminaryobjections
raised by the United States of America;
Whereas,on 2June 1992, acopyofthe aforementioned letterwastrans-
mitted to the Agentofthe United States of America,who was at the same
timeinformed that the President ofthe Courthad fixed 5June 1992asthe
time-limitwithin whichthe UnitedStates ofAmericamightstateitsviews
on that request Whereas, by a letter dated 3 June 1992,received in the Registry on
4June 1992,the Agentofthe United StatesofAmericainformed the Court
that his Government "has no objection to thisrequest, onthe understand-
ing(asbefore) that the United States willreceivethe same amount oftime
to prepare a response to the observations and submissions of the Islamic
Republic of Iran",
Extendsto 9 September 1992the time-limitforthe written observations
and submissions ofthe IslamicRepublic of Iran on the preliminary objec-
tions raised by the United States of America; and
Resewes the subsequent procedureforfurther decision.
Done in English and in French, the English text being authoritative, at
the Peace Palace, The Hague, this fifth day of June, one thousand nine
hundred and ninety-two,inthree copies,one ofwhichwillbeplaced inthe
archives ofthe Courtand the otherstransmitted tothe Government ofthe
Islamic Republic of Iran and the Government of the United States of
America, respectively.

l'espèce le4mars 1991par les Etats-Unisd'Amérique,

d'expiration du délaidans lequel la République islamique d'Iran peut
présenterun exposéécritcontenant sesobservationsetconclusionssurles
exceptionspréliminairessoulevéespar les Etats-Unis d'Amérique;
Considérantque,par lettredujuin 1992,reçueau Greffe lemêmejour,
l'agent de'Iran a, pour les raisons par lui indiquées,deàla Cour
de proroger de trois mois le délai dans lequelun exposé écrit contenant
