The International Court of Justice,
Composed as above,
After deliberation,
Having regard to Articleof the Statute of the Court and to Ar-
ticles 31 and 79 of the Rules of Court,
Having regard to theder of 19 June 1992whereby the Court fixed
20 December 1993 and 20 June 1995 as the time-limits for the filing,
respectively, of a Memorial of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya and of a
Counter-Memorial of the Uniteddom;
Whereas on 16 June 1995 the United Kingdom filed certain prelimi-
nary objections to the jurisdiction of the Court and to the admissibilityof
the Libyan claims; Whereas accordingly, by virtue of Article 79, paragraph 3, of the
Rules of Court, the proceedings on the merits are suspended and a time-
limit has to be fixed for the presentation by the other Party of a written
statement of its observations and submissions on the preliminary objec-
tions;
Whereas at a meeting between the President of the Court and the
Agents of the Parties, held on 9 September 1995, the Libyan Arab
Jamahiriya requested that a time-limit of three months be fixed for the
presentation of that written statement, and whereas the United Kingdom
agreed ;
Having taken into account the views of the Parties,
Fixes 22 December 1995 as the time-limit within which the Libyan
Arab Jamahiriya may present a written statement of its observations
and submissions on the preliminary objections raised by the United
Kingdom; and
Reserves the subsequent procedure for further decision.
Done in English and in French, the English text being authoritative, at
the Peace Palace, The Hague, this twenty-second day of September, one
thousand nine hundred and ninety-five,in three copies, one of which will
be placed in the archives of the Court and the others transmitted to the
Government of the Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya and the
Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern
Ireland, respectively.

Vu l'ordonnance du 19 juin 1992 par laquelle la Cour a fixéau
20 décembre1993et au 20juin 1995lesdates d'expiration des délaispour
le dépôt,respectivement, d'un mémoire de laJamahiriya arabe libyenne
et d'un contre-mémoiredu Royaume-Uni;
Considérant que, le 16juin 1995,le Royaume-Uni a déposé certaines
exceptions préliminairescompétence de la Càula recevabilité
des demandes libyennes; Whereas accordingly, by virtue of Article 79, paragraph 3, of the

pourra présenter un exposé écritcontenant ses observations et conclu-
sions sur les exceptions préliminaires;
Considérant qu'au cours d'une réunion que le Présidentde la Cour a
tenue avec les agents des Parties, le 9 septembre 1995, la Jamahiriya
arabe libyenne a demandé qu'un délai detrois mois soit fixépour la
présentation de cet exposé écrit,et que le Royaume-Uni a donné son
accord ;
Compte tenu des vues des Parties,
Fixe au 22 décembre1995la date d'expiration du délaidans lequel la
Jamahiriya arabe libyenne pourra présenter unexposéécritcontenant ses
observations et conclusionssur les exceptions préliminairessoulevéespar
le Royaume-Uni;
Réservela suite de la procédure.
Fait en anglais et en français, le texte anglais faisant foi, au Palais de
la Paix,à La Haye, le vingt-deux septembre mil neuf cent quatre-vingt-
quinze, en trois exemplaires, dont l'un restera déposéaux archives de
la Cour et les autres seront transmis respectivement au Gouvernement
de la Grande Jamahiriya arabe libyenne populaire et socialiste et au
Gouvernement du Royaume-Uni de Grande-Bretagne et d'Irlande du
Nord.
