ORDONNANCE

Le présidentde la Chambre de la Cour internationale de Justice cons-
tituéepour connaître de l'affaire duD$férendfrontulier entre le Burkina
Faso et le Mali,

Vul'article48du Statut de laCour et lesarticles 18,paragraphe 3,31,44.
46 et 92 de son Règlement,
Vu le compromis conclu le 16 septembre 1983entre la République du
Burkina Faso (alors Haute-Volta) et la République du Mali en vue de
soumettre à une chambre de la Cour un différendconcernant la délimi-
tation de leur frontière commune,

Vu l'ordonnance prise par le Présidentde la Cour le 12avril 1985par
laquelle la date d'expiration du délaipour le dépôt d'un mémoirepar
chaque Partie était fixéeau 3 octobre 1985 ;

Considérant que les mémoires du Burkina Faso et du Mali ont été
déposésdans le délai susvisé ;
Considérant que l'article III, paragraphe 2c),du compromis susmen-
tionnéprévoitqu'un contre-mémoire sera soumispar chacune des Parties
au plus tard six mois après l'échangedes mémoires ; et que les Parties,
interrogéesàce sujet le 3 octobre 1985,ont confirmé leur accordpour que
les contre-mémoires soient déposésdans ce délai ;

Fixe au 2 avril 1986 la date d'expiration du délaipour le dépôt d'un
contre-mémoire par chaque Partie ;

CASE CONCERNING THE FRONTIER DISPUTE
(BURKINA FASO/MALI)

ORDER

The President of the Chamber of the International Court of Justice
formed to deal with the case concerning the Frontier Dispute between
Burkina Faso and Mali,
Having regard to Article48of the Statute of the Court, and toArticle 18,

paragraph 3, and Articles 31, 44, 46 and 92 of the Rules of Court,
Having regard to the Special Agreement concluded on 16 September
1983 between the Republic of Burkina Faso (then called Upper Volta) and
the Republic of Mali for the submission of a dispute concerning the
delimitation of their common frontier to a chamber of the Court,

Having regard to the Order made by the President of the Court on
12April 1985,fixing 3 October 1985as the time-limit for the filing of a
Memorial by each Party ;
Whereas the Memorials of Burkina Faso and of Mali have been filed
within the above time-limit ;

Whereas Article III, paragraph 2 (c), of the above-mentioned Special
Agreement provides that a Counter-Memorial is to be submitted by each
Party no later than six months after the exchange of the Memorials ;and
whereas the Parties, having been consulted on 3 October 1985,confirmed
their agreement that Counter-Memorials be filed within that time-
limit;

Fixes2April 1986asthe time-limitfor the filingof a Counter-Memorial
by each Party ;
And reserves the subsequent procedure for further decision. Fait en françaiset en anglais, le texte français faisant foi,au palais de la
Paix,à La Haye, le trois octobre mil neuf cent quatre-vingt-cinq, en trois
exemplaires, dont l'un restera déposéaux archives de la Cour, et dont les
autresseront transmis respectivement au Gouvernement du Burkina Faso
et au Gouvernement du Mali.
