ORDONNANCE

Le Président de la cour internationale de Justice,

vu l'article 48 du Statut de la Cour et l'article 62 du Règlement
de la Cour;
vu l'ordonnance duIOjuillet 1962, prorogeant au 14 août 1962 le
délai fixépour le dépôt du contre-mémoire du Royaume-Cni de
Grande-Bretagne et d'Irlande du Nord;

Considérant que le contre-mémoire duoyaume-Cni de Grande-
Bretagne et d'Irlande du Sord a étédéposédans ce délai;
Considérant que, dans ledit contre-mémoire, l'agent du Gouverne-
ment du Royaume-Uni de Grande-Bretagne et d'Irlande du Kord,
tout en énonçant les réponses de son Gouvernement aux alléga-
tions formulées sur le fond par la République du Cameroun, a
contesté la compétence de la Cour et a présenté expressémentcette
contestation comme une exception préliminaire au sens de l'arti-

cle 62 du Règlement de la Cour;
Considérant qu'en conséquence, en vertu des dispositionsde
l'article 62, paragraphe du Règlement de la Cour, la procédure
sur le fond est suspendue et qu'il échetde fixer un délaidans lequel
la Partie adverse pourra présenter un exposé écritcontenant ses
observations et conclusions sur l'exception préliminaire, INTERNATIONAL COURT OF JUSTICE

ORDER

The President of the International Court of Justice,
having regard to Article8 of the Statute of the Court and to
Article 62 of theules of Court;

having regard to the Order of IO July 1962, extending to
14 August 1962 the time-limit fixed for the filing of the Counter-
Mernorial of theLTnitedKingdom of Great Britain and Northern
Ireland;
Whereas the Counter-Jlemorial of the Cnited Kingdom of Great
Britain and Northern Ireland was filed within that time-limit;

1'Vhereasthe Agent of the Government of the Lnited Kingdom of
Great Britain andorthern Ireland, while including inthe Counter-
hlemorial the answers of his Government to the allegations of the
Federal Republic of Cameroun on the merits, has objected to the
jurisdiction of the Court, and expressly stated this objection as a
preliminary objection under Article 62 of the Rules of Court;

Whereas, accordingly, by virtue of the provisions of Article 62,
paragraph 3, of the Rules of Court, the proceedings on the merits
are suspended and a time-liinit has to be fixed for the presentation
by the other Party of a~vritten statement of its observations and
submissions on the preliminary objection,

4 Fixe au ler décembre 1962 la date d'expiration du délaidans
lequel le Gouvernement de la République fédéraledu Cameroun
pourra présenter un exposé écrit contenant ses observations et
conclusions sur l'exception préliminaire soulevéepar le Gouverne-
ment du Royaume-Uni de Grande-Bretagne et d'Irlande du Nord.

Fait en français et en anglais, le texte français faisant foi, au
Palais de la Paix, à La Haye, le trois septembre mil neuf cent
soixante-deux, en trois exemplaires, dont l'un restera déposé
aux archives de la Cour et dont les autres seront transmis respec-
tivement au Gouvernement de la République fédéraledu Came-
roun et au Gouvernement du Royaume-Uni de Grande-Bretagne
et d'Irlande du Nord.

ment of the Federal Republic of Cameroun may present a written
statement of its observations and submissions on the preliminary
objection raised by the Government of the United Kingdom of
Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Done in French and in English, the French text being authori-
tative, at the'Peace Palace, TheHague, this third day of September,
one thousand nine hundred and sixty-two, in three copies, one of
which will be placed in the archives of the Court and the others
transmitted to the Government of the Federal Republic of Came-
roun and to the Government of the United Kingdom of Great
Britain and Northern Ireland, respectively.
