The International Court of Justice,

composed as above,
after deliberation,

having regard to Article 48 of thetatute of the Court and to
Article37of the Rules of Court,

Makes thefollowingOrder:
Having regard to the Order of 28 July 1964, fiIiJuly 1965as
the time-limit for theling of the Counter-Memorial of the Govern-
ment of Spain; Whereas, in a letter dated 29 May 1965, received and filed in the
Registry on 31 May 1965,the Agent for the Government of Spain set
out the grounds onwhich the Spanish Government felt itself obliged
to request an extension of this time-limit t31 December 1965 ;

Whereas, on 31 May 1965,a certified true copy of the aforemen-
tioned letter was transmitted to the Agent for the Government of
Belgium who was asked to make known the views of his Govern-
ment on the request ;

Whereas, in a letter dated4 June 1965,the Agent for the Govern-
ment of Belgium set out the reasons for which the Belgian Govern-
ment considered that an extension of the time-limit was not justi-
fied;
Whereas, by a letter dated IO June 1965, a certified true copy of
which was duly communicated to the Agent for the Government of
Belgium, the Agent for the Government of Spain stated that he was
authorized on behalf of his Government to give an assurance that it
undertook firmly to adhere to 31 December 1965 asthe final date for

filing its Counter-Memorial,

having thus ascertained the views of the Parties,

extends to 31 December 1965 the time-limit for the filing of the
Counter-Memorial of the Government of Spain ;
Reserves the subsequent procedure for further decision.
Done in French and in English, the French text being authorita-

tive, at the Peace Palace, The Hague, this eleventh day of June, one
thousand nine hundred and sixty-five, in three copies, one of which
will be placed in the archives of the Court andthe others transmitted
to the Government of the Kingdom of Belgium and to the Govern-
ment of the Spanish State, respectiveiy.

les raisons pour lesquelles son gouvernement se voit dans l'obliga-
tion de demander une prorogation de ce délai jusqu'au31 décembre
1965 ;
Considérant que, le31 mai 1965, copie certifiéeconforme deladite
lettre a étécommuniquée à l'agent du Gouvernement belge, qui a
été invité à faire connaître les vues de son gouvernement à cet
égard ;

Considérant que, par lettre du 4 juin 1965,l'agent du Gouverne-
ment belge a exposé les raisons pour lesquelles ce gouvernement
considère que l'octroi d'un délai supplémentaire est injustifié;

Considérant que, par lettre du IO juin1965 dont copie certifiée
conforme a été dûment communiquée à l'agent du Gouvernement
belge, l'agent du Gouvernement espagnol a déclaré qu'ilétait auto-
riséà donner au nom de son gouvernement l'assurance qu'il s'engage
à maintenir la date du 31 décembre 1965 comme dernier délai pour
le dépôt de son contre-mémoire,

s'étant ainsi renseignéeauprès des Parties,

reporte au 31 décembre 1965 la date d'expiration du délai fixé
pour le dépôt du contre-mémoire du Gouvernement espagnol;
Réservela suite de la procédure.
Fait en français et en anglais, le texte français faisant foi, au
Palais de la Paix, à La Haye, le onze juin mil neuf cent soixante-

cinq, en trois exemplaires, dont l'un restera déposéaux archives de
la Cour et dont les autres seront transmis respectivement au
Gouvernement du Royaume de Belgique et au Gouvernement de
1'Etat espagnol.
