La Cour internationale de Justice,
.vu l'arti4Sedu Statut de la Cour,

vu les articl37 et62 du Règlement de la Cour,

Rend l'ordonnance suivan:e

Vu l'ordonnance rendue par la Cour l24 avril1956, fixant au
4juin 1956l'expiration du délai dans lequel le Gouvernement de la
République française peut présenter un exposéécritcontenant ses
observations et conclusions sur les exceptions préliminaires soule-
vées par le Gouvernement du Royaume de Norvège en l'affaire
relative à certains emprunts norvégi;ns
Attendu que, par lettres d24 avril1956,le Greffier de la Cour,
en notifiant aux agents des Parties la décisionprise le mêmejour
par la Cour, leur a fait savoir que l'intention de la Cour était
d'ouvrir les audiences en cette affa25ejuin1956 ;

Attendu que, par lettre d15 mai 1956,M. Lars Jorstad, agent
du Gouvernement. du Royaume de Norvège, a prié le Greffier de

ORDER

The International Court of Justice,

having regard to Article 48 ofe Statute of the Court,

having regard to Articles and 62 of the Rules of Court,

Makes the following Orde:
Having regard to the Order of the Court of April 24th, 1956,
fixing June 4th, 1956, as the time-limit within which the Govem-
ment of the French Republic may present a written statement of its

observations and submissions in regard to the Preliminary Objec-
tions raised by the Government of theingdom of Nonvay in the
case of certain Norwegian loans ;
Whereas, by letters of April qth, 1956, the Registrar, when
notifying the Agents of the Parties of the decision taken that day
by the Court, informed them that it was the Court's intention to

open the oral hearings in the said case on 2jth, 1956;
Whereas, by letter of May 15th, 1956,M. Lars Jorstad, Agent
for the Government of the Kingdom of Norway, requested the

en l'espèce ;

Aprits s'êtrerenseignée auprès des Parties et tenant compte de
leur situation respective,

mciit du Royaume de Nors+ge, décidéde retarder l'ouverture des
audiences,
Reporte au 31 août 1956 la date d'expiration du délai pour le
dépôt par le Gousw-nement de la R6publique française de ses
obscrvationç ct coilclusions sur les exceptions préliminaires soule-
vers par le Gouvernement du Royaume de KorvGge ;

Réserve la suite de la procédure.

Fait en français ct en anglais, le texte français faisantfoi, au
Palais de la Paix, à La Haye, le vingt-neuf mai mil neuf cent
cinquante-six, en trois èxeinplaires, clont l'un restera déposéaux
archives de la Cour et dont les autres seront transmis respective-
ment au Gous-erilement de la République française et au Gouver-
nement du Royaume de Korvt'ge.

that, because of unforeseen circumstances, the oral proceedings in
the case should be postponed until the autumn ;

After ascertaining the views of the Partics and taking into
account their respective positions,
Having decided, as a result of the request presented on behalf of
the Government of the Kingdom of Norway, to postpone the
opening of the oral proceedings,
Extends to August 31st, 1956, the time-limit for the filing by the
Government of the French Republic of its observations and sub-
missions in regard to the Preliminary Objections raised by the
Government of the Kingdom of Norway ;

Reserves the rest of the procedure for further decision.

Done in French and English, the French text being authoritative,
at the Peace Palace, The Hague, this twenty-ninth day of May, one
thousand nine hundred and fifty-six, in three copies, one of which
will be placed in the archives of the Court and the others trans-
mitted to the Government of the French Republic and to the
Government of the Kingdom of Nonvay, respectively.
