The following information is communicated to the Press by the Registry of the International
• Court of Justice:

Within the extended time-limit0 September 1996 each of the Parties in the above case
duly filed a Memorial the merits.

By an Order of 30 October 1996,the President of the Court, taking into account the views
of the Parties, fixed 31 December 1997as the itfor the filbyeach of the Parties of a
Counter-Memorialon the merits.

The subsequent procedure is reserved for further decision.
