The following informationis communicated to the Press by the
Registry of the InternationalCourt of Justice:

On 26 June1995,within the time-limit for the filing of its
Counter-Memorial,Yugoslavia (Serbiaand Montenegro), filed certain
preliminary objections in theove case.The objections related,
firstly, to the admissibility of the Application and, secondly, to the
jurisdiction of the Court toal with the case.

By virtue of Article9, paragraph3,of the Rules of Court, the
proceedings on the merits are suspended when preliminary objections are
filed; proceedings havehen to be organized for the consideration of
those preliminary objections in accordance with the provisions of that
Article.

By an Order of14July 1995,the President of the Court, taking into

time-limit within which the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina may
present a written statement of its observations and submissions on the

(Serbiaand Montenegro) raised by the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia

The subsequent procedurehas been reserved for further decision.
