Military and Paramilitary Activities in and
against Nicaragua (Nicaragua v. United States of America)

The United States has filed its Counter-Mernorial

On 17 August 1984, within the time-limit fixed by an Order of
14 May 1984, the United States filed its Counter-Memorial in the case
concerning Military and Pararnilitary Activities in and against Nicaragua

(Nicaragua v. United States of America).

As prescribed by the Court in its Order of 10 May 1984, respecting
Nicaragua's request for the indication of provisional measures, this
Counter-Memorial is addressed to the questions of the Court's

jurisdiction and the admissibility of Nicaragua's Application.

Nicaragua filed i.ts Mernorial respecting the same questions on
30 June 1984.

No decision has yet been taken as to the date for the opening of the
oral proceedings in this phase of the case.
