Military and Paramilitary Activities in and against Nicaragua
(Nicaragua v. United States of America)

The following information is made available to the Press by the
Registry of the International Court of Justice:

By an Order dated 14 May 1984, the President of the Court, after
consulting the Agents of the Parties, has fixed the following time-limits
for the written proceedings:

Memorial of Nicaragua: 30 June 1984
Counter-Mernorial of the United States of America: 17 August 1984

In accordance with the Court's Order of 10 May 1984, the written
proceedings are first to be addressed to the questions of the jurisdiction
of the Court to entertain the dispute between Nicaragua and the
United States and of the admissibility of ~icaragua's Application.

In the Order, the subsequent procedure, including the fixing of the
date for the opening of the oral proceedings on these questions, is
reserved for further decision.
