Court of Justice has besn cpmmunicated to the Press.
Today, September25th, 1958, at 11 a,m. the Internationa Clourt
of Justice began its hearings iri the case concerning the Application of
the Convention of 1902 governing the guardanship of infants
(~etherlands v. SweJen).
After opening the hearing,the Fresidcnt of the Cowt called
upon bpi, Sterzeland Qfïerhaus, choseri by thebvemuents 02 Sweden and
the hetkerlands respectimly, to sit as Juc1ge;c-- hoc in the case, to
makc the solemn daclaration proviued for in Article 20 of the Statut;: of*
Court, iiaving made the relevant declarai;iuns, they were duly instaUeQ
as Judgesfor the purpcsesof the preserit case.
The President callad uponths Agent for thc Fietherlands Goverixlent,
who asked tllat Cowiscl for the Nctherrlands Govermilent, Professor 1. Esch
of the Law Faculty of the University of Arristerdaribe aUowed to open
the case for thst Govermcnt,
Professor KLsch began his oral argument and will continue Lt at
the next hearing of the Court at 10.30 a,m. on fiiday, Septenber26th.

dûment installés comme juges 21.iifins de la presente affaire,
Le Président a donné la parole 2 M. l'Agentdu Gouvernement
nCerLandais qui a demandé que la Cour veuillebien perrnzttre au
Conseil de ce Gouverïierncnt, le Professeur1. iCisch, ,dela Facultg
de droit de l'Université dlAmterdam, de commencer l'exposé de la.
thèse du Gouvernement des Pays -Bas.
La Professeur Kisch a com~ncé ss plaidoiriequl il continuera
à la prochaineaudience de la Cour qui sera tanue le vendredi
26 septenbre, A 10 h. 30.
