Les renseignements suivants, émanant du Greffe de la Cour interna-
tionale de Justice, ont éta niisA la disposition de la presse:
Le 10 juillet 1957, le thisire des Affaires étrangères des Pays-
Bas a remis au Greffe de la Gour me ~qu@te du Gouverncmnt njerlandais
introduisant une instance contre le Gouvernement suedois .
Cette requgte exposeque la mineure Marie Elisabeth BOU, née en
Suède en 191,5d fun père néerlandais et d'une mère suédoise avant son rra-
riage,possède la rat ionalTt6 néerlandaise. Apr&s la mort de sa mère
survenueen 1953, les autorit&s suédoises ont pris à son égard des me-
sures de tutelle dites u~kyddsuppfostrantl, tandls que 1~s autorit6s néer-
landaises pourvoyxient également à la tutelle selonla lk~islation des
Pays-Bas. En dépit des appels interjetes par les tuteurs néerlandais
et malgré les démarches entreprises par le Gouvernemen tes Pays-Bas,
ces rncsures ont étémintenues,
Estimant que Les autorités suédoises ont agi contrairemen aux
dispositions de la Convention de 1902 pour regler la tutelle des -mi-
neurs, le Golmernement néerlandai s decidé de saisir La Cour,
Pour etablir la conpetence de la Cour en l'espéce, la requetedu
Gouvernement néerhndais invoque 1 tac cepkat ionpar les deux ?art ies de
a la juridiction obligataire de la Cour EUX termes des déclarations qulel-
les ont faites en epplication fie1 'article 26 du Statut (déclaration de
la Suède du 5 avril 19&7; déclaration des Pays-Bas du ler aoot 1956 }.

the Kingdom of the Netherlmds instituting proceedings against the

respect of the infant r~ith regard to her guardianship, lmom as

for her gpardianship in accordancewith the law of the Netherlands , In
spite of zppeals prosecuted by the htch guardims x~d representations
made by the Govermcnt of the I,'etherl&rds, these measures trere maintained.
The Dutch Govcrnmentc ,onsidering that the Swedishauthoritles had acted
contrary to the provisions of the 1902 Conventiongoverning the
guardianshlp of Xants, d-ecided to submit the case to the Court.
The Application f ounds the jurisdiction of the Court in this case
on the acceptance hy both Parties of the compulsoryjurisdiction of the
Court >y virtueof the Ueclarations v~hich they made in pursuance of'
Article 36 of the Statute (the Swdish Declaration of A-ril 5th, 1947;
the Metherlands Declaration cf -'.ugust lst;,1956) ,
