Time-Limits fixed for the filina of Re~lies
The following information is made available to the press by the
Registry of the International Court of Justice:
After the Court's decision of 14 April 1901 that the application
by the Government of Elalta for permission to intervene in the case
concerning the Continental Shelf between Tunisia and the Libyan Arab
Jamahiriya could not be granted, the case continues its course.
On 16 April the President of the Court made an Order fixing
15 July 1981 as the t.ime-limit for the filin? of Replies by Tunisia
and the LiSyan Arab Jamahiriya. Refore doing so he ascertained the
views of the respective Agents of the Parties, each of whom indicated
a wish to submit additional written yleadings as envisaged in the
Special Agreement bet.ween the two States, the instrument hy which
the case was brought before ttie Court. With the filin!: cf the Replies,
the case will become ready for hearing.
Up to now both 'I'unisia and the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya have each
filed a Mernorial and a Countcr-Memorial in accordance with tkat
Agreement.
