Questions of Interpretation and Application of the 1971 Montreal
Convention arising from the Aerial Incident at Lockerbie

(Libyan Arab Jamabiriva v. United X:inadom) and
(Libyan Arab Jamabiriya v. United States of America

The following information is communicated to the Press by the
Registry of the International Court of Justice:

Since the Court does not include upon the Bench a judge of the
nationality of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya that Party has, in accordance
with Article 31 of the Statute, chosen Mr. Ahmed Sadek El-Kosheri to sit
as judge ad hoc in each of the above two cases.

Judge ad hoc El-Kosheri will make the solemn declaration required by
Article 20 of the Statute at the public sitting of 26 March 1992, at
which hearings on the requests for provisional measures made by Llbya in
the above two cases will open.

A biography of Judge ad hoc El-Kosheri is annexed hereto.
