Land, Island and Maritime Frontier Dispute
(El Salvador/Honduras)

The following information is conmiunicated to the Press by the
Registry of the International Court of Justice:

Public sittings to hear the oral arguments of the Parties in the
case concerning the Laiid, Island and Maritime Frontier Dispute
(El ~alvador/~ondura~ will open at 10.00 a.m. on Monday 15April 1991 in
the Great Hall of Justice of the Peace Palace at The Hague.

As previously announced, the case is being dealt with by a Chamber
of the Court. The composition of that Chamber is as follows:

President of the Chamber: Judge Sette-Camara ; Members of the
Chamber: Judges Sir Robert Yewdall Jennings, President of the Court and
Oda, Vice-President of the Court, and Judges ad hoc Valticos and
Torres Bernàrdez. NOTE FOR THE PmSS

1. The public sittings will be held in the Great Hall of Justice of
the Peace Palace. Members of the Press will be entitled to attend after
presentation of a press identification card or an admission card, which
may be obtained upon application. The tables reserved for them are
situated on the far left of the public entrance to the courtroom.

2. Photographs may be taken before the opening and during the first
few minutes of a Sitting; also a few minutes towards the end. Filming
for cinema or television purposes is however subject to special
authorization.

3. In the Press Room, located on the ground floor of the
Peace Palace (Room 5), the Court's proceedings will be relayed through a
loudspeaker .

4. Members of the Press may use only the public telephones in the
Post Office in the basement of the Palace.

5. Mr. A.Th. Witteveen, Secretary of the Court (telephone
extension 233) or, in his absence, Mrs. N.C. El-Erian (telephone
extension 234) will be available to deal with any requests for
information by members of the Press.
